Kiwi Terminology
Suss- To figure out. “Did you suss out that math problem yet?”
This would be me, jumping off ledges. Ignore the first minute of me retying my shoes.
Kiwi Terminology
Brekkie- I haven’t actually heard anyone say this yet, but I’ve read it on multiple things. Not too difficult to figure out it means breakfast but I like to share nonetheless.
Kiwi Terminology
Jersey- A sweater. This was one of the words that confused me for quite a while. My host mum would tell me I needed to get a jersey to keep warm. I was thinking more like a sports jersey and didn’t understand how that would help.
Kiwi Terminology
Flat- An apartment. Your flatmates are equivalent to roommates.
Kiwi Terminology
Boot- The trunk of a car. “My reds and whites (our PE uniform) are in the boot”
Once Again
I’ve fallen out of my blogging routine. I promise to start up again! I have been doing a lot lately and should keep all you American folks in the loop. Plus I’m not here for much longer so I have to do as much as possible before I have to return home.

Holidays
Have been over for a few days now and I’m back in school once again. I figure I should fill everyone in on what exciting things I did over my 2 weeks off from school. So after I get back from school today I’ll post some pictures and type up some words and whatnot.
Sorry to be depriving everyone of posts lately but I’ll try to get better at being more consistent.
Kiwi Terminology
Unco- Just a shortened version of uncoordinated but I found it different. So if someone is bad at sports or can’t catch a ball, they’re unco.

Kiwi Terminology
Cabbages- These are basically the drop out kind of kids. The ones in all the low level classes who don’t really care about school. My school is basically filled with these. Everyone calls em’ “cabs” for short.
News Flash
My computer charger broke so I won’t be updating my blog for quite some time. I’ll be on break anyhow so I don’t think I would have much to begin with. Maybe I’ll be able to buy a new charger somewhere over break. Either way, my blog will automatically post 2 more “Kiwi Terminologies” and that’s it. Hopefully I can update everyone after break! Cheers for...
Kiwi Terminology
Coconuts- I don’t know if it is just my school who uses this because we have so many of them but everyone refers to the islander kids (fijians, samoans, and other pacific islands) as coconuts.
Kiwi Terminology
Jandals- Just a letter away, jandals are the equivalent to sandals. It’s a mix of Japanese sandals, honestly I don’t know why.
Kiwi Terminology
Flash- Something extravagant or nice looking. For example, “That’s a flash car you’ve got there!”
Kiwi Terminology
Ice Block- A popsicle or any other delicious frozen treat.
Kiwi Terminology
Wag- The act of wagging is the same as ditching or skipping a class. “Did you just wag class yesterday?”
Kiwi Terminology
Hundy- I think this probably only applies to my school or kids because I’ve never heard anyone besides students use this. Basically it means hundred but is used to describe anything that is awesome.

Change of Plans
Just got back from Wellington today which is about 7 hours away and is the bottom of the north island. Reon and his mates had to get to a wedding tomorrow at the top of New Zealand so they’re continuing on up and I’m staying here. The trip to Wellington and other towns along the way was long but exciting so I’m glad to be done driving.
Travels
I’m going to the bottom of the south island and back up to the very top of the north with my host brother Reon. We’re leaving tomorrow and getting back Monday so I’ll be able to see the whole country. Just thought I’d give everyone a heads up of the incoming pictures and stories of the trip.
Kiwi Terminology
Misses- When you say “That’s my misses” or “There is your misses!”, something along those lines, it refers to your girlfriend or wife. But all the kids at my school address teachers as misses.
Kiwi Terminology
Zed- The letter “z”. I don’t get it really. I was watching the Olympics and noticed how Canadians say Zen then realized Kiwis say Zed. I want to hear someone sing the ABC’s now.
Kiwi Terminology
